latest in a long-line of vampire hunters

In the fall of 1999, Julius Belmont embarked upon a mission that many felt might be his last: combat Count Dracula Val Tepes. Foretold by Nostradamus that on August 11th the Count would be resurrected, and that is exactly what occurred after a total solar eclipse consumed most of Eastern Europe. Before then, members of the Belmont Family had not been seen in action for nearly 200 years, prompting other factions to step up and deal with supernatural forces that threatened innocents. Julius felt it was due time to take up the mantle and continue what his bloodline began back in the 11th century. Furthermore, he wanted to try and spare his then 2-year-old daughter Viktoria from ever having to take on this heavy burden when she got older.

This would be the final time Dracula would rise. At the age of 19, Julius left for Japan where the source of the Count's return was the strongest. With aid from the Hakuba Family, they used a sacred art to bind Dracula's castle and confine it within the darkness of the eclipse. With his source of power and any means of resurrection sealed away, Dracula was permanently slain by Julius. His reign of madness had finally come to an end.

As clichΓ© as it may sound, Viktoria grew up just like any other young girl. At four, she wanted to be the princess of a lollipop kingdom; at five, she started gymnastics; at six, she took to learning how to play the guitar; and at seven, she was taught how to hunt and kill vampires. — Wait, what?! That's all supposed to be over!

Even though Julius was successful in slaying Dracula, there were still countless other supernatural dangers lurking around. He felt that it was important for the legendary hunter skills that were originally documented by their ancestor Simon Belmont to be passed down to his daughter even if she would not have to use them against the likes of Dracula. But all Vikki wanted to do was just play video games, ride her bike, or hula hoop. She did get to do all those things, but there were some afternoons she instead had to learn the proper angles to drive a stake through a sternum, or how to properly wield a sword and whip.

Okay, admittedly the whip training was pretty badass.

Regardless, Viktoria honestly felt that everything she was being trained in was a waste of time. Talk of vampires, ghouls, and boogeymen were great stories that she used to hear from her parents, but was skeptical that any of that stuff was real—let alone confront her. Julius did not halt the training and teachings of the anatomy of monsters despite his daughter's protests, though Viktoria didn't put her full heart into any of it. It all felt forced; once training for the day was complete, she would try and forget about it like complex equations after a math test, and go back to doing fun stuff.

This back-and-forth between Viktoria and her parents went on for years, but all had been silent on the fronts. It wasn't until a couple of days after Vikki's 13th birthday that horrors literally arrived on the Belmont family's doorstep. Vikki remembered that night vividly as they were preparing to have dinner with friends of her Dad arriving. Her mother Sonia went to answer the front door to unveil a man and woman "standing" there with their throats slit, moments before their bodies were thrown into the foyer by four men in black occultist robes. They forced their way inside, one grabbed Sonia and held a sacred blade tight against her throat, while the others moved to confront the Belmonts. Followers of the Dark Priest Shaft, and tasked to kill Julius and his daughter before she could grow to become a threat in the future. What they didn't take into account was that Sonia had powers of her own, able to produce a magical binding glyph that incapacitated their attackers. Acting swiftly, Julius summoned Vampire Killer and dispatched all but one of Shaft's followers, only for the purpose of getting information out of him.

β€œThe Master can never be slain forever!,” the Follower spat toward the family, hissing while fighting against his restraints. β€œHe may fall, but always rises again stronger than before! Shaft will see to it; preparations have already begun. And when he succeeds … you, your family, and the world will drown in the blood of your brethren!” At that moment the Follower somehow broke free of the binding glyph and secured a hold on the dropped ceremonial blade, using it to slash his own throat. Viktoria watched in shock as the blood of these men stained her living room carpet, witnessing firsthand that all her parents had told her was a reality.

From that day forth Viktoria's attitude toward everything took a one-eighty. She began to focus more on the studies of the slayer arts, but it was starting to compound with the work from high school. Life reared its ugly head and she was starting to feel cramped and losing focus. This prompted her to move away from Europe to America when she started college, settling into the serene and peaceful landscape of Denver, Colorado. There Vikki came more into her own and had an easier time organizing what needed to be done. It still wasn't easy, but each day was a step forward.

This brings her to current day where Viktoria has learned to balance college, personal life, and stopping horrors from harming the innocents. Vampire Killer, the legendary Belmont whip, now rests in her hands, and Vikki has big shoes to fill if she is to answer the same calling her ancestors did. … Oooo, speaking of shoes, she needs to go shopping soon!

weapons + equipment   vampire killer

The "Whip of Alchemy," as it was originally known as; this mystical weapon was "made whole" after the sacrifice of a willing, yet tainted soul. It normally has the appearance of a standard leather whip, but due to its creation forged through alchemy coupled with the mastery of its wielder, it can shift into a chained frail when it is empowered. Its max length stretches ten feet, and it can absorb magical energy to enhance Vikki's attacks. The whip inflicts serious damage not only to vampires and the undead, but any evil-hearted entity struck by its lash.

  crissaegrim / valmanway

An enchanted sword passed down through the family line. It means "Blessed Wind," and when swung creates illusions of many blades slashing at once. Every single slash is equivilent to four slashes. These illusions can inflict damage. Crafted with a diamond edge, considered to be nigh unbreakable, and can imbue the powers of ice, flame, and certain arcane magics to increase the potency of Vikki's attacks. She can summon the blade at will so it doesn't always need to be worn and hinder her movement.

  desert eagles .50ae, x2

Vikki is the first Belmont to include a firearm into her arsenal. Unlike her whip and sword, the Eagles don't possess magical properties. They cannot be summoned; she must actively wear them. However, the ammunition used has been modified depending on the type of monsters she battles. Certain beasts have tougher hides than others, so has an array of bullet types to fit her needs. Wears one around her right thigh, the other sits in a holster behind her back. Vikki doesn't use the guns often, only when she has to hit something that's out of reach of her whip.

  various other hunter equipment

shuko—hand claws for scaling walls.

kunai—silver throwing blades.

bracers w/ retractable 20cm blades.

• holy water in paintball-sized spheres.

• flash/smoke grenades.

• 50-million volt stun baton.

additional skills + powers + weaknesses   β–²β–²   enhanced strength, stamina, speed, agility

Viktoria may have a tiny frame, but they say big things come in small packages. She is a lot stronger than most people her size, but don't expect her to lift cars or punch through brick walls. Much of her strength gets transferred through whichever weapon she's wielding.

Her agility is impressive as Vikki can climb, sprint, slide, vault, and flip with ease to avoid dangers while using her whip in conjunction for risky maneuvers. Highly parkour-ish movement. This makes her rather unpredictable in battle and effective against many forms of monsters and demons, but she does fall on her ass now and then.

These have been traits common throughout the Belmont line, far greater than an average hunter. Possesses a natural predisposition to detect and confront vampires or the forces of darkness in general, as well as their magical powers.

  β–²β–²β–²   whipsmanship

The Belmonts are universally known for their mastery of the whip, and Vikki is no slouch. Putting her own flair on the sacred techniques that have been utilized by the family for over six centuries. She uses it as an extension of her arms, making her incredibly effective at ranged combat. Can't reach a ledge? Her whip can. Need to get from one rooftop to another? The whip allows that too. Gotta grab something and it's a lazy day where she doesn't feel like getting up? Whip it!

  β–²β–²   swordsmanship

If Vikki is ever in melee range then she has her fabled blade to utilize. Can be used to disarm people if she needs them alive; however, if it's a threat to her life, she has the strength to run it through for a killing blow.

  β–²   holy magic affinity

While whips and swords are effective tools to battle with, the main force that allows the Belmonts to combat evil and grant immunity to Dracula's dark influences is the Holy-based magic within their blood. One of Viktoria's ultimate attacks is Grand Cross, which unleashes a maelstrom of holy energy to inflict immense damage to darkened or evil beings nearby.

Vikki hasn't fully grasped how to properly utilize her holy magic; most times it sparks to life if she's backed into a wall.

  β–²β–²   flexability

Having participated in gymnastics since she was five has made her body quite limber and lightfooted. She'll never make it into the Olympics, but she can contort and fit her already tiny frame into even tinier places, in addition to bending and moving fluidly.

  β–    hand-to-hand fighting

Julius trained her in boxing and grappling, in addition to various Belmont techniques, but it's not her strongest offense. Anyone skilled with any serious degree of martial arts training would kick her ass unless she acted underhandedly. She can defend against strikes and disarm someone, but it's to fend off an opponent until she can get access to a weapon again. That's not to say she hasn't punched someone out before!

  β–    telekinesis

For summoning her weapons. They materialize in her hand as opposed to flying to her across the planet like Mjolnir. Can also intensify some magical properties affixed to her weapons.

  β–Ό   still human

While the Belmonts possess seemingly supernatural abilities, they are still human and Viktoria is no exception. She can be injured like any ordinary mortal. She is fairly durable and can bounce back because she recovers faster than average, but lethal damage can take her out—so don't kill her!

  β–Ό   impulsiveness

It's not uncommon for Vikki to act on a whim or a hunch. She doesn't always plan out her actions fully and instead goes with what she feels is right. A firm believer in Occam's razor: the simplest solution is the right one. It hasn't killed her yet! Yet.

random trivia

• Refers to her dress style as "hipothic," hipster with a gothic flair to it. Most of her clothing has darker shades in it.

• Dyes portions of her hair and bangs every other month. Fancies greens or reds, but dabbled with magenta and orange to try something lit.

• Went through a limited blonde phase. In hindsight, she didn't like it much.

• Metroidvania, fighting, platformers, RTS, FPS, and MOBAs are her favorite types of video games. Dabbles in RPGs when she has time. Has been overheard cursing out people over voice chat when playing Fortnite or Overwatch 2.

• Her favorite channels are Comedy Central, Cartoon Network, and the Discovery Channel.

Hates those "ghost hunting" shows because they're all bullshit. If any of those actors ever saw a fraction of the things she has, they'd question their religion ten times over. Vikki conducts her own spirit hunting side-business, and works alongside the MVA's Paranormal Division.

• Owns a Siamese named Farnsworth named after her favorite Futurama character. It was given to her by Amanda Belnades shortly after she started working at her bookstore. Wanted one since seeing Lady and the Tramp as a kid; came to find out they really are assholes in real life. Regardless, she loves that cat to death. Farns has a strange knack for sensing paranormal energy, so he sometimes joins Vikki on assignments.

• Grew up listening to a lot of jazz and blues from her mother playing it when she exercised and relaxed. Her favorite artists are Carlos Santana and Miles Davis.

• Drinks on occasion, or for celebratory reasons (which she'll make excuses for), but when she does it doesn't stop for a while. Can handle her liquor better than most, but there are drunk girl Instagram pictures she wishes would go away for-eh-vah!

• Fluent in English, Russian, and Italian. Knows a little German and Japanese, but only basic stuff—enough to order food or have a very simple conversation. Tends to swear and rant in Russian strictly out of habit.

• Rides a green Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R. The main reason she got it is because the color matched her hair color at the time. Her dad hates that damn thing; mom's okay with it.

• Abuses emojis like no one's business.

• Insane shoe fetish; like, way more than what people believe most women have. Favors boots and heels. After a successful job, treats herself to a new pair, or three.

• The name of Vikki's mother pays respect and homage to Sonia Belmont, a character who initially was the original forerunner of the Belmont Clan. Unfortuately, she and her storyline were completely removed from the official Castlevania canon since it conflicted with another origin story, and instead Sonia was placed in an alternate timeline. I was incredibly disappointed at that change. I used to play as Sonia back in 2000 on AOL. This name choice was to once again shed some light on the first (and only) female Belmont to wield the legendary whip, and to poetically be the mother of this Belmont female.

• Viktoria fights with both a whip and a sword like how Sonia was going to in the canceled Castlevania: Resurrection.

• The name's Riri—nice to meet you! β™₯

• Female writer (she/her), legal age, and over two decades of online roleplay experience. Yeah, I'm old.

• This page is best viewed in either Firefox (preferred) or Chrome. Requires a high resolution (1920x1080) for everything to look how it should—4K preferred. If the "Castlevania" logo or Viktoria's name appears beneath any text, either your resolution is too small or the browser needs to be maximized.

• Viktoria is specifically for modern-fantasy settings. She's an original character based on the Akumajou Dracula franchise, being the latest generation of the Belmont family's legendary vampire hunters.

• This character is crossover-friendly with characters from media that share similar genres. While I may not be familiar with every type of anime/show/game out there, I am willing to discuss ideas and do some research if a storyline piques my interest.

• Discord play only. Forum and message boards are practically dead, and journals look absolutely obnoxious.

Reactive: I give back what I am given through play, but I have a fairly low tolerance toward people who don't put in any effort or much character interaction. Fluff is boring. My posting style is 3rd-person storybook and multi-para/novella range. I get quite descriptive and lengthy if I'm feeling the scene. I make it a habit not to one-line unless it's for comedic or add-in purposes.

• Not looking for purely smut-based play. If relationships and sex happen, coolies. Her story/smut ratio is 8:2.

• Over the years I've found that players that do not possess some type of character profile are lazy, typically falter fast, and are overall not worth the effort. There is no excuse to not have one because there are plenty of mediums available to create them—even if it's written out in a Word document. The "learn everything about my character through RP" excuse is weak because apparently, some people don't understand profiles are OOC. They are there to give a brief overview of a character and to help players construct ideas—that's Roleplay 101 This stance has loosened some since Discord offers no elaborate profile space. Still, there are outlets for serious RPers to use, so use them.

• No OOC drama—If it begins, I will end it.

• I tend to be a bit quiet and reserved, but friendly! It's not you, just the way I tend to act. I'm not the most talkative and gossipy, so don't expect me to carry on long conversations and small talk.

• I keep a thick line between online and real life. It's nothing personal but it keeps needless bullshit to a minimum, and issues are easier to deal with when those lines blur very little. So I don't give my number or address, send pictures, etc. If you want to contact me just leave me a DM, and I'll read it eventually.

• I live in Japan (JST), which is anywhere between 12–15 hours ahead of anyone in the US. Just a heads up.
