Yasmin never knew this, but her conception was not planned. Long before Yasmin was even a thought, her would-be mother Jaclyn was an aspiring actress who took small roles in hopes of one day getting discovered by a big name. Holding assertive management of her body with normal routines of exercise and eating smart, but still felt she was not getting the attention she deserved as her performace remained unchanged. Later, Jaclyn became aquainted with a skilled chef named Spencer who worked at a hotel she regularly frequented, and he began to create specialized meals so she could maintain her strict diet—and still have them taste delicious! Their relationship blossomed to the point where they got married roughly three years later. While the ceremony was small and modest, it was in no way a reflection of the grand love shared between them.
However, Jaclyn's first love was always her body—a degree of vanity which grew increasingly contentious. She would become upset easily whenever little things got in the way of her regimen, believing anything out of flux would hurt her chances toward stardom. Spencer tried to sway his wife away from her systematic actions as he felt it was becoming too egregious, but Jaclyn remained adamant as she was in fear that it may throw off her body's chemistry and all the work would be for naught.
Everything took a sudden turn when Jaclyn discovered that she had become pregnant. Not understanding how that could happen since she and Spencer had been practicing safe sex. Growing angry and frustrated over the news, believing her options and body would take a significant decline if she were to go through with this to term. Jaclyn seriously considered getting an abortion even against her husband's wishes, but found out that at the time she was past the stage where it was possible without a risk of harming Jaclyn herself. From that point on Jaclyn was not the same woman that Spencer married; she had bore herself into a level of self-loathing and spontaneous lashes of anger. Typically toward Spencer and blaming him for ruining her life and any chances of a red carpet lifestyle, when all Spencer truly wanted was to make their lives better—for them, and their upcoming child.
In late August of that year, Jaclyn gave birth to the tiny Yasmin Michele Caine. Both healthy and quite active, the newborn entered the world to her parents' joy. Jaclyn appeared to have grown past her prior anger over the pregnancy as she sat in her hospital bed holding her beautiful newborn, with Spencer attentive at bedside. Acceptive of her new daughter warmly and what was to come.
That is until a week later. Spencer went to bed with his wife the previous night after finally getting Yasmin to sleep, but awoke the following morning to find Jaclyn gone. No note, no warning—just gone. A significant amount of money withdrawn from their joint savings. Spencer did all he could to locate his wife such as going to the police, and checking with Jaclyn's family to see if she was with them. Searches returned with nothing, as if Jaclyn just vanished into thin air.
With no leads concering Jaclyn's whereabouts after a few months, Spencer settled into the fact that he was going to have to raise Yasmin alone. Overall it wasn't too difficult to act as both parents, but he did have help from his sister and mother to handle Yasmin's feminine needs until the latter's passing. Though in that time they helped Yasmin develop into a sharp young woman which carried into her teenage years and beyond.
Despite not having known her, Yasmin gained the mindset to take the best care of her body from her mother. From a young age she took an interest into self-defense and aerobics which put strenuous work on her body. Eating right and exercising daily was the process that carried on well into her adult life to bring Yasmin into the field of fitness where she helped others with their bodies. Yasmin's body sculpted out with defined muscle tone in her arms and legs; yet, she retained her feminine beauty. Occasional jeers from others never took her self-esteem down—Yasmin felt beautiful and comfortable in her body. She wanted to help others gain that same level of confidence if they felt bodyshamed.
While teaching yoga classes was fun and had its high points, Yasmin didn't believe she could make a career out of it. During one of her classes, billionaire and philanthropist Tony Stark came to the gym to pick up one of her female students who was working toward entering an upcoming beauty contest. Stark took notice of the "amazon woman"—his words—teaching the class, and despite his hint of chauvinistic flair the two began chit-chatting. To the point where Tony offered Yasmin a position on his security team at Stark Tower since there was an opening. Who could pass up working for Stark Industries? Yasmin agreed and showed up for her "interview" which lasted roughly ten seconds. Saying that Yasmin already had the job when they spoke at the gym, and that the interview was just a formality to see if she would actually show up to accept it.
Yasmin rose in rank to one of the security heads only after a few months. It was a passing rumor she might have slept her way to the top; with Stark's playboyish traits, it wasn't a far-fetched assumption. However, Yasmin immediately quelled those rumors before they got out of hand since they were completely fabricated.
Recurring nightmares began to take form roughly four months after her promotion. Typically in the same manner: Yasmin finding herself in a crimson void standing on a floating meteor with nothing else around for light-years. Then emerging from out the red mist was a towering demonic monstrosity—fangs, muscles, wings, tentacles—everything horrific.
It spoke to Yasmin, at first crypticly, then urging her to go on a search. For a gem placed on Earth that would give her immense and unimaginable power. It told her that its name was Cyttorak and she had been chosen to become his next avatar. Initially, Yasmin did her best to ignore the visions and dreams, but they would not cease. Instead becoming nightly horrors, terrorizing her to the point where she was unable to sleep for fear of returning to that vermilion world.
Her sleepless posture started to reflect in her daily life and work, which was unlike Yasmin's normal routine. Stark took notice of this and questioned Yasmin, so she confided in him about the visions. Attempting to laugh it off and apologize for how silly it all sounded out loud, she promised Tony she would perform better from then on. Stark, however, took her story to S.H.I.E.L.D.
S.H.I.E.L.D. immediately got involved, and through Yasmin the organization found the whereabouts of where the Gem of Cyttorak was located—an abandoned Nazi-created cavern deep within Antarctica. When they arrived to search through the bunker, another group of mercenaries were lead there by a man who also claimed to have received visions from this 'Cyttorak' being. A firefight ensured, struggle and fighting between the two parties. In the midst of the chaos that lead deeper into the inner sanctum, Yasmin was shot twice in the chest and fell against the altar holding the gem. The crimson jewel came in contact with her body, merging with her soul and healing her wounds. From that point on, Yasmin Caine was a changed woman and became the avatar to Cyttorak: the JUGGERNAUT.
Yasmin can control the extent of the gem's flow of power (to a degree), allowing her to mentally amplify its effects when needed. She is not constantly in a “powered-up” form; instead, she can channel it to enhance her traits at will.
With the Gem came a large assortment of powers:
Furthermore, the Juggernaut's power proceeding from Cyttorak is connected to Yasmin's function as the avatar of destruction. Thus, the scale of power granted by Cyttorak to her is proportional to the level of destruction and chaos caused.
SIVA was constructed following Stark's breakthrough with nanotechnology after creating his Mark L armor, but it also acted as a prototype and testing field for his later suits. With just a push on the housing unit normally fixated to one of Yasmin's belts, nanoparticles deploy over her entire body to form the armor, granting a substantial degree of protection.
The suit is dubbed “variant armor” in that the nanoparticles switch to four different modes depending on Yasmin's needs. Stark codenamed each after a Disney princess partially to be a smart-ass; however, they do coincide with their abilities to avoid confusion:
• Yasmin can be susceptible to exceedingly high levels of mental and mystical attacks. Magical attacks and items are things she has a hard time dealing with that can nullify some of her strengths. Mental strain can happen as Cyttorak tries to defend against it automatically, causing a great deal of pain to her head. While the effects may not be permanent, they are ways to shut her down.
• If the Juggernaut does not use her powers in a manner approved of by Cyttorak, the power of the gem does not work correctly, essentially making her a human with only a portion of some of her powers. Yasmin constantly has to find ways to appease Cyttorak, even if it's for a brief moment, just so it doesn't plague her mind constantly. Thankfully, the MVA facility comes equipped with realistic VR simulation systems which Yasmin can use to unleash her greater power without causing mass property damage.
• Surname is Caine, similar to the first name of Cain Marko.
• Tall; standing at 6'5", not too far off from Cain at 6'10".
• Has had martial arts training, but never achieved any type of black belt. Her style is a bit more structured as opposed to Cain's who used to get into street fighting and brawling.
• Tony Stark first met Yasmin and had the conversation with her during the yoga class in April 2013. That was nearly a year after the Battle of New York (The Avengers) where Stark Tower had been undergoing heavy construction work because of how damaged it got. Stark also wanted to strengthen his security detail, which is why Yasmin was told an opening was available. She was promoted to a security head around the time it was rebranded to Avengers Tower in early 2014.
• Cyttorak's visions began to plague Yasmin's dreams in Q1 2015. At that time, Stark was far too occupied between working on new suits (Iron Man 3), HYDRA (Captain America: The Winter Soldier), and creating the artificial intelligence known as Ultron (Avengers: Age of Ultron). When Yasmin informed him about her nightmares, Tony had no choice but to get S.H.I.E.L.D. involved because their resources could better handle the circumstances. Stark did not accompany Yasmin/S.H.I.E.L.D. to Antarctica to find the Gem of Cyttorak.
• Yasmin had been undergoing tests in an offsite S.H.I.E.L.D. medical facility after fusing with the Gem in May 2015, so she was not anywhere near New York when Ultron came to fruition and began causing havoc there and later in Sokovia. Unbeknownst to her, there had been discussions within S.H.I.E.L.D. to send Yasmin to Sokovia to aid the Avengers, and to gain information about what she could do now being augmented by Cyttorak. The plan was quelled for fear she was too much an unknown variable that could jeopardize lives due to Yasmin having no experience with that degree of battle—she had only been Stark's security personnel.
• With a relocation to a new base imminent and Tony already in talks to sell Avengers Tower, he was also speaking with Directors John Stewart and Harper Robinson of the Multiverse Authority (MVA) to discuss a transfer of Yasmin to their facility. With no Avengers Tower, the security positions would all be dissolved and he didn't want to leave Yasmin high and dry. In addition, he believed she may better help Nexus 31 with their safeguarding of the multiverses while also discovering more about her newfound powers. Furthermore, since few knew of Yasmin's condition outside of him and S.H.I.E.L.D., and she was not in the spotlight like the Avengers were, this transfer could spare her from getting caught up in the Sokovia Accords.
• By Halloween 2015, Avengers Tower was a husk of its former activity and used only for some Stark Industries-related purposes. Yasmin had a meeting lined up with the MVA near the end of November. A week prior on the evening of the 14th, she was doing a favor for a sick friend by acting as a substitute fitness teacher in Stilwater. By happenstance, that area happened to be the target of an attack by Animus spreading animosity among the locals to incite mass chaos. With the assistance of other fierce-hearted individuals who also were in the area, including Black Widow, Ghost Rider, Cyclops, and Batgirl, Yasmin got her first taste of intense combat. Together they were able to defeat the Hate-Monger and a magma golem he created to restore peace.
• Yasmin joined the Multiverse Authority on November 20, 2016.
• Stark finished his Mark L Armor sometime between the end of 2017 and early 2018, and in that period he used what he learned to also produce SIVA as a side project and give it to Yasmin. The Mark L was first deployed in May 2018 to battle Ebony Maw and Cull Obsidian in Greenwich Village (Avengers: Infinity War).
• Yasmin's first assignment with the MVA involved going to The Commonwealth. What was supposed to last maybe a week tops for a retrieval mission instead got her and dozens of other MVA Agents stuck there for roughly eight months. Because they were all trapped in an alternate universe and timeline, Yasmin survived the Snap.
• The name's Riri—nice to meet you! ♥
• Female writer (she/her), legal age, and over two decades of online roleplay experience. Yeah, I'm old.
• This page is best viewed in either Firefox (preferred) or Chrome. Requires a high resolution (1920x1080) for everything to look how it should—4K preferred.
• Yasmin is specifically for modern-fantasy/superhero settings. She's an original character based in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (Earth-199999), being a female version of the Juggernaut.
• This character is crossover-friendly with characters from media that share similar genres. While I may not be familiar with every type of anime/show/game out there, I am willing to discuss ideas and do some research if a storyline piques my interest.
• Discord play only. Forum and message boards are practically dead, and journals look absolutely obnoxious.
• Reactive: I give back what I am given through play, but I have a fairly low tolerance toward people who don't put in any effort or much character interaction. Fluff is boring. My posting style is 3rd-person storybook and multi-para/novella range. I get quite descriptive and lengthy if I'm feeling the scene. I make it a habit not to one-line unless it's for comedic or add-in purposes.
• Not looking for smut-based play. Yasmin is happily attached with no intent of cheating.
• Over the years I've found that players that do not possess some type of character profile are lazy, typically falter fast, and are overall not worth the effort. There is no excuse to not have one because there are plenty of mediums available to create them—even if it's written out in a Word document. The "learn everything about my character through RP" excuse is weak because apparently, some people don't understand profiles are OOC. They are there to give a brief overview of a character and to help players construct ideas—that's Roleplay 101. This stance has loosened some since Discord offers no elaborate profile space. Still, there are outlets for serious RPers to use, so use them.
• No OOC drama—If it begins, I will end it.
• I tend to be a bit quiet and reserved, but friendly! It's not you, just the way I tend to act. I'm not the most talkative and gossipy, so don't expect me to carry on long conversations and small talk.
• I keep a thick line between online and real life. It's nothing personal but it keeps needless bullshit to a minimum, and issues are easier to deal with when those lines blur very little. So I don't give my number or address, send pictures, etc. If you want to contact me just leave me a DM, and I'll read it eventually.
• I live in Japan (JST), which is anywhere between 12–15 hours ahead of anyone in the US. Just a heads up.
• Most importantly: have fun~ ♥ Else what's the point? We're here to write and game.
